Wilson “Snap” Hedgepeth, Jr.

WILSON “SNAP” HEDGEPETH, JR. was born on January 24, 1938, in Halifax County, North Carolina, to the late Wilson Hedgepeth, Sr. and Olivia Rudd Hedgepeth. After a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease, he peacefully made his transition from this earthly life to his eternal presence with the Lord on Friday, January 27, 2017, at the Oliver House in Wendell, North Carolina.

Wilson was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Lenora Lynch on December 24, 1955. This union was blessed with seven children. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed. He was a wise man who loved everyone around him and was never a stranger to anyone. He enjoyed helping others, and was full of love, wisdom, and understanding. Boy, did he love his family! Next to “Bonnie”, his most prized possession was his garden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Ervin; two sisters, Laura Ann and Maggie Lynch; two grandchildren, Felicia “Chubby” Richardson and Jason Reid; one great-grandson, Kyree Harrison; and his son-in-law, Frankie Silver.

Wilson leaves to celebrate his life and share the legacy of his love, his beautiful, loving wife, Lenora “Bonnie” Hedgepeth of the home; three daughters, Pattie Richardson (JayL) and Lena Macon (Willie) all of Enfield, NC, and Patricia Silver of Littleton, NC; four sons, Eddie Hedgepeth, Sr. (Ella), McKinnley Hedgepeth (Eloise), Charlie Hedgepeth, and Michael Hedgepeth all of Littleton, NC; a special child whom he reared as his own, Patchie Richardson (David) of Wake Forest, NC; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, six sisters, Eloise Mills, Carlean Coley (Vermus), Dorothy Long (Johnny), Virginia Seda (Norberto), Versie Hedgepeth, and Delois Richardson (Marlow) all of Louisburg, NC; five brothers, Norman Hedgepeth (Beryle) and James Hedgepeth all of Warrenton, NC, Truman Hedgepeth (Anna Mae) of Louisburg, NC, Benton Hedgepeth of Bunn, NC, and Jasper Hedgepeth (Brenda) of Wendell, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including his very special friend, Bud Macon.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev.
