Vanessa Gale Williams Harvey

VANESSA GALE WILLIAMS HARVEY, daughter of the late Charles Williams and Neda Jones Williams, was born on December 12, 1956, in Warrenton, North Carolina. She departed this earthly home and crossed over to her Heavenly home on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.

Vanessa received her formal education in the Warren County Public School System and graduated from John Graham High School in Warrenton, North Carolina.

Vanessa became employed with several companies between Henderson, North Carolina, and Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Her last employment was serving as buffet manager with Kentucky Fried Chicken in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, where she retired because ill health prevailed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her precious son, Jameille Harvey; her brothers, Tyrone and Travis Williams; and her beloved son-in-law, Jeremiah Graham.

Those remaining to forever treasure the precious memory of her life and to share the beauty of her love are her devoted husband, James Harvey; her children, Tyrone Williams (Lisa), Lashekia Hawkins, Lanekia Harvey, and Shannon Harvey; her grandchildren, Kenya, Ayanna, TuSharia, Christiana, Alisha, Tyra, Shaniya, Serenity, Travis, Camden, Kareem, Jameille, Jr., Chassity, Camyia, Malaysia, Javionne, Kayden, and Kaydance; her siblings, Carolyn Goode (Bernard), Annie Scott, Rannie Winston, Jacklin Williams, Anita Moore, Beverly Hargrove (Conrad), Charles Williams (Ernestine), Baron Williams (Carolyn), Tony Williams (Patricia), Alvin Williams (Shirley), Calvin Williams, Steve Williams (Sorraya), and Robert Williams; her other sisters-in-law, Brenda Harvey (Rick), Laverne Harvey, and Lisa Bowman-Pope (Stan); her other brothers-in-law, Charles Harvey (Barbara), Walter Harvey, Wesley Bowman (Tracey), and Albert Harvey, Jr.; her mother-in-law, Pearline Darmon (Melton); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

We don’t grieve for Vanessa because we know that she is no longer in pain. She is now safe in the arms of Jesus and rejoicing with her family, especially her son, whom she has missed so much since his departure on July 16, 2016.
