Thomas Makel “Tom Tom” Ivey

PhotoThomas Makel “Tom Tom” Ivey was born on April 30, 2001, In Wake County, North Carolina, to Sharon Fields Ivey and Kelvin Thomas Ivey, and peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 2, 2015, at his home in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Thomas loved the Lord, and on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, he said to his mother, “I want to be baptized today.” At 2:15 on that very day, he accepted Christ as his Savior.

Thomas was a seventh grader at PreEminent Charter School in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he was well liked by many of his teachers and classmates for his quick wit and respectable mannerism.

Thomas was an avid Dallas Cowboys’ fan, and he also enjoyed playing video games, listening to music, and reading his children’s bible. He had a free spirit, was always concerned about others, and had a smile that would light up the world.

Thomas was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Claytee Faulcon and Mercy Fields, Sr., and his paternal grandfather, Theodore Ivey, Sr.

Those Left to forever treasure the precious memories of his life are his loving parents, Sharon F. Ivey of the home, and Kelvin T. Ivey of Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Kelita and Charmiah Ivey of Wilson, NC; His grandmother, Juanita Ivey of Roanoke Rapids, NC; three aunts, Evetta and Ebony Ivey of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Tasha Ivey of Greensboro, NC; three uncles, Mercy Fields, Jr. (Shelia) and Torrey Ivey of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Theodore Ivey, Jr. (Janice) of Wilson, NC; one great- uncle, Joe M. Faulcon (Barbara) of Kingston, NY; three great-aunts, Nancy Johnson (Earl) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Pauline Borders and Betty Hunt of Durham, NC; a great-great-aunt, Jessie Sessoms of Roanoke Rapids, NC; fourteen cousins, Latesha, Mercy III, Malik, Damien, Ashley, Eddie, Deon, Essence, Terel, Jaylin, Ivyana, Dana, Jr., Ayden, and Navaeh; an aunt of the heart, Tina Kelly of Clayton, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

His kind personality, warmth, and pleasant ways touched all of us and will certainly leave a significant void in the hearts and lives of those who knew him. We accept our loss as Heavenly gain, trusting and praying that it will be an awakening and guiding light to all.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the London Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, NC. The Pastor, Rev. Elbert E. Lee will officiate, and Rev.
