STELLA ROSA LEE WILKINS ALSTON, daughter of the late Robert and Gracie Wilkins, was born on January 22, 1949, in Warren County, North Carolina. She answered God’s call to eternal rest and peace on Sunday, December 15, 2019, at her home in Littleton, North Carolina.
During her early life, Rosa Lee accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the Pleasant Zion Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. Her formal education was received in the Warren County Public School System.
On May 5, 1985, Rosa Lee was united in Holy Matrimony to Millard Alston, and God blessed them with thirty-five years of marriage.
Rosa Lee enjoyed gardening, cross word puzzles, and spending time with her family. She will always be remembered as a loyal employee of the former Roses Department Store in Littleton, North Carolina.
In addition to her parents, Rosa Lee was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Fleming, Mary Lou Wilkins, and Edna Mae Fitts; and three brothers, Robert Wilkins, Jr., Charles Wilkins, and Donald Wilkins; five brothers-in-law, Dick Lewis Alston, Freddie Alston, Earnest Fitts, Ezekiel Fleming, and James Thomas; three sisters-in-law, Sally Thomas, Janice Wilkins, and Elsie Wilkins.
Those remaining to forever treasure the precious memory of her life and love are her devoted husband, Millard Alston of the home; her son, Malcolm Wilkins (Dorothy) of Littleton, NC; her granddaughter, Marinda Wilkins of Littleton, NC; her brother, Clint Wilkins (Kim) of Littleton, NC; her sister, Barbara Palmer (Earl) of Littleton, NC; two sisters-in-law, Alma Burgess of Warren Hills Nursing Home, Warrenton, NC, and Elsie Sellers of Henderson, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 20, 2019, in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev. Maxine Bradley-Caine will deliver the eulogy, and burial will follow in the Elams Chapel United Church of Christ Cemetery, 299 Ebony Road, Littleton, NC. The body will repose at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon – 8:30 P.M. on Thursday, December 19, 2019, with the family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
