Sister Louise Wills Price

SISTER LOUISE WILLS PRICE, the fourth of the eleven children of the late Richard Wills and Roxie Kearney Wills, was born on November 26, 1925, near the Ringwood Community in Enfield, North Carolina. In 1937, her family moved to the St. Luke Church area in Littleton, North Carolina.

Sister Price received her formal education in the Halifax County Public School System, and she graduated from the former McIver High School in Littleton, North Carolina, with the class of 1945. She then relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she attended Johnson C. Smith University and received her Bachelor’s Degree. She began her teaching career in Enfield, North Carolina, and remained there from 1950 until 1956.

On September 12, 1950, Sister Price was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Walter Price, who preceded her in death. God blessed this union with three children, and she began raising her family in 1956.  In 1966, she returned to the field of education and taught at McIver School until 1987.

Sister Price accepted the Lord as a young girl at White Oak Baptist Church in the Ringwood Community. She also served faithfully with her husband at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina, while still attending Bible Study with her sisters at White Oak.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sister Price was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Samuel; four sisters, Doretha, Ann, Mainer, and Deborah; and her daughter-in-law, Bernice.

Those remaining to forever treasure the precious memories of her life and love are her two sons, Lt. Col Walter R. Price (Ret) of Beavercreek, OH, and Edwin V. Price of Greensboro, NC; one daughter, Eleanor S. Price of Greensboro, NC; her daughter-in-law, Idora Murchison Price; nine grandchildren, Christen, Danielle, Nathan, Brittany, Micah (Rachel), Joel, Caleb, Brandi, and Kianna; one great-grandson, Hosea John Price; four siblings, Jeremiah Wills (Elizabeth), John Wills (Isabeller), and Delores Cooper all of Littleton, NC, and Eunice Burgess of Baltimore, MD; her nephew and niece who were raised as her own, CMSgt (Ret) Calvin C. Price (Addie Bea) of Sumter, SC, and Martha Price “Nib” Carroll (Hubert) of Littleton, NC; a host of other nieces and nephews, many cousins, other relatives and friends who all loved her greatly.

Sister Price always had a song, singing to God’s Glory. She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 22, 2020, in Greensboro, North Carolina.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 127 Rock House Road, Littleton, NC. Rev. Edmund R. Bynum will deliver the eulogy. Because of Covid-19, the CDC guidelines will be followed for all services by limiting the number of persons in attendance. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 21, 2020, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Only five persons will be allowed to enter at any one time.
