POLLY BLANCHARD RICHARDSON, daughter of the late Idla Blanchard, was born on July 1, 1943, in Suffolk, Virginia. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, in the comfort and serenity of her home in Enfield, North Carolina.
Polly accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of the Como Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. Her formal education was received in the public school system of Suffolk, Virginia.
Polly was united in Holy Matrimony to Randy Richardson, and God blessed them with forty-one years of marriage. Together they blended a family of three sons.
Polly was employed as a key maker at the Kaba Ilco Corporation in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and remained loyal and devoted for over twenty years until ill health prevailed. She was recognized as Employee of the Month in September of 2004.
Polly had a kind, loving, gentle spirit and found great comfort in just being at home taking care of her beloved Poodle,“Tee”. She was lovingly referred to as “Big Ma” by her youngest sister-in-law, Peggie.
In addition to her mother, Polly was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Blanchard; her brother, William Blanchard; her father and mother-in-law, Andrew and Avorlean Richardson; and her sister-in-law, Roshea Hamilton.
Those left to forever cherish the precious memories of her life and love are her loving and dedicated husband, Randy Richardson of the home; three sons, John Thomas Parker (Harriett) of Manfield, OH, Gene Parker (Patricia) of Suffolk, VA, and Randy Shudale Richardson of Hollister, NC; two grandchildren, Shawn and Roberta; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Laionna; her in-laws, Peggie, Sherroy, Collie, Rollie, Carnie, Daniel, Aaron, Sarah, Judy, Oletha, and Andrew C; her best friend, Becky Brown ( Lonnie); a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 16, 2018, in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev. Tommy Arrington will eulogize, and burial will follow in the Richardson Family Cemetery in Hollister, NC. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 15, 2018.
