Nacoleon “Bro” Solomon was born on March 29, 1953, in Newport News, Virginia, to Ben and Malettie Manley Solomon. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, December 29, 2013, at W.G. Bill Hefner Veterans Medical Center, Salisbury, North Carolina.
He was baptized and became affiliated with the Episcopal Church in Hempstead, New York, where he served on the vestry. During his early life, he attended high school in Virginia and graduated from Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York.
After serving his country in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer from 1970 to 1972, he became employed as a Financial Advisor. Bro’s favorite pastimes included golfing, photography, and sharing special times with family and friends.
Those left to forever treasure his precious memory are his wife, Carol Solomon of Charlotte, NC; his two sons, Nacoleon Solomon, Jr. and Vernon Solomon (Stephanie) of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Kennedy and Leighton of Charlotte, NC; his mother, Malettie Graham of Greensboro, NC; his father, Ben Solomon (Penny) of Enfield, NC; three sisters, Claudette Johnson and Moneca Allen of Greensboro, NC, and Sathena Solomon of San Antonio, TX; five brothers, Stephen Solomon of Newport News, VA, Reginald Solomon of Stafford, VA, Benjamin Solomon of Dallas, TX, Matthew Solomon of San Antonio, TX, and Keith Graham of Somerville, NJ; a special niece, Shailyn Jones of Waynesboro, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the funeral home, with a viewing to begin at 11:00 A.M. Rev. JoAnn Bedford Boyd will eulogize.
