Margaret Davis Wilson

MARGARET DAVIS WILSON was born to the late Joe Davis and Sallie Wilkins Davis on March 18, 1926, in Henrico, North Carolina, and was the youngest of nine siblings who have all preceded her in death. She transitioned from this earthly life to her Heavenly home on Thursday, April 9, 2020, in the serenity of her home in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, surrounded by her loving family.

During her early life, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, was baptized, and became a member of the Gaston Baptist Church in Gaston, North Carolina. She later joined the Simmons Grove Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, and remained faithful until ill health prevailed.

On August 15, 1953, Margaret was united in marriage to the late Gilmore Wilson, and this union was blessed with one daughter. She loved her family unconditionally and always showed the sweet spirit of care and compassion for others. Singing and gardening were her greatest enjoyments.

Those left to treasure the precious memories of her life are her caring and devoted daughter, Delois W. Garner (James, her dedicated son-in-law); three loving granddaughters, Robin Caine, and Jamekia and Kyia Garner; and one loving great-granddaughter, Makyia Vincent all of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; a special nephew, Thomas Davis, Jr. of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will all miss her kind smile and loving heart.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at Crestview Memorial Cemetery, 489 Smith Church Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC. Rev. Stafford Boyd will deliver the eulogy. Because of Covid-19, the CDC guidelines will be followed for all services by limiting the number of attendees. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. and only five persons will be allowed to enter at any one time.
