Idell Faulcon Brown

brownIDELL FAULCON BROWN was born on Wednesday, March 23, 1932, in Halifax County, North Carolina, to the late James Willis Faulcon and Elvira Neville Faulcon.  She quietly slipped away into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Her formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System.  Seeking better employment than the town of Littleton could offer, she relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she remained for a while.  She later decided to make Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, her permanent place of residence.

Idell was an employee of the former Dauphin Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and retired after eighteen years of exemplary service.  After retirement, she would do her best to assist others in any way she could. In fact, babysitting was one of her favorite ways to help others. During her leisure, she enjoyed cooking, shopping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her pleasant personality, affectionate smile, and trendy fashion sense.

Having accepted the Lord as her personal Savior, she was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Steelton, Pennsylvania, for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, John Faulcon, Sr., Eugene Faulcon, and James W. Faulcon; her sisters-in-law, Rosetta Faulcon and Maude Faulcon; and her brothers-in-law, John T. Mills and Milton R. Solomon, Sr.

Those left to forever celebrate her precious memory and cherish the times they spent together are her daughters and sons-in-law, Yolanda and Lanorth Meade of Marietta, GA, Karen Brown of Tampa, FL, and Phyllis and Leonard Robinson of Harrisburg, PA; her stepsons, Nehemiah “Anthony” Clea (Teddi) of Steelton, PA, and Jeffrey “Scottie” Clea (Tona) of Harrisburg, PA; her six grandchildren, Andre, Bria, and Quinn Brown, Justus Reed, and Thomas and Brett Clea; her sisters, Frances Mills and Eva Ravenell of Harrisburg, PA, and Alberta Solomon and Viola Faulcon of Littleton, NC; a special friend of the family, Kimberly Miller of Harrisburg, PA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday April 22, 2014, at the Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church in Littleton, NC. The Pastor, Rev. Timothy Edwards, will eulogize, and Rev. Milton R. Solomon, Jr. will preside. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will repose at the church for one hour prior to the funeral time.
