FRED FIELDS, JR., affectionately known as “Supa”, was born to the late Fred Fields, Sr. and Rebecca Davis Fields on June 14, 1948, in Halifax County, North Carolina. He entered into eternal rest and peace on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at South Village Health and Rehabilitation Center in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
During his early life, he accepted Jesus Christ and became a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. His formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System, and he retired from the West Point Stevens Company in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, after many years of dedicated service.
Fred was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Julia Copeland, who preceded him in death. Together they reared four children and a fifth child who also occupied their hearts. One daughter, Nakita Caudle, predeceased them.
Spending time with family and friends, his humor, and his way of seeing the positive in every situation will forever be remembered about our “Supa”.
In addition to his parents and daughter, he was preceded in death by one brother, Willie Edmonds, and one sister, Emma Dean Hawkins, one sister-in-law, Octavia King; two brothers-in- law, Clarence and Warren Copeland.
Those remaining to cherish his fond and loving memories and to treasure special times shared are his supportive children, Melissa “Lisa” Graham of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Natasha Rover (Berry) of Whitakers, NC, Jennifer Fields (Randall) of Knightdale, NC, and Fred Fields III of Littleton, NC; his eight precious grandchildren, Shakira, Jayden, Caitlin, Makiyah, Jabari, Raniyah, Quedrith, and Mon’Tayvious; his loving sisters, Lizzie Fields, Lilly Fields, and Ernestine Copeland (Robert) all of Littleton, NC; his devoted brothers, Charlie, John, and James all of Littleton, NC, and Oswell (Daisy) of Roanoke, VA; his other sisters-in-law, Tempie Copeland of Oxon Hill, MD, Clara Copeland and Wanda Williams (Roderick) all of Durham, NC, Eva Boone (Eakie) of Littleton, NC, and Kelly Harris (Landis) of Smithfield, VA; his other brothers-in-law, Raymond Copeland (Virginia) of Littleton, NC, and Earl King of Temple Hills, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends who will all miss “Supa’s” earthly presence.
