Frank Thomas Brinkley

FRANK THOMAS BRINKLEY was born on November 11, 1943, in Littleton, North Carolina, to the late George Cleveland Brinkley and Ellen Bert Brinkley. He answered God’s summon to  eternal rest and peace on Friday, May 29, 2020, at his home in Littleton, North Carolina, in the presence of his loving family.

Frank was educated in the North Carolina Public School System before relocating to Washington, DC, where he began his career in the Brick Masonry Industry.  While there, he met and married his first wife, Mary Brinkley. This union was blessed with three children, Calvin, Marie, and Tunishia.

Frank eventually moved to New Haven, Connecticut, to continue his career as a Brick Mason. There he met and married his second wife, Corine Kinlaw Brinkley. During this union, Frank followed his dream of returning to his hometown of Littleton, North Carolina, where he built his own home with his bare hands.

When Frank decided to turn his life over to the Lord, he became a member of the Odell Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina, and served as a dedicated Trustee.

After the passing of his second wife, Frank was fortunate enough to find love again in his third wife, Dorothy Lee Brinkley. She was a devoted wife who was always right by his side until his transition. Frank enjoyed listening to The Blues and hanging with his favorite uncle, Bert.

In addition to his parents and second wife, Frank was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Henry Brinkley; and one sister, Mary Pugh.

Frank leaves to cherish unforgettable memories of his life and love, his wife, Dorothy Brinkley; three children, Calvin, Marie (Ronald), and Tunishia; four step-children, Edward, Alexander (Joyce), Shelton (Amanda), and Cathy; four grandchildren, Charles, Calvin, Nicole, and Brandon; one great-granddaughter, Camryn; eight step-grandchildren, Sa’mya, Ta’zhane, LaTia, Alaysia, Temaje’, Christopher, Divante, and Alexander; five brothers, Robert (Mary), Johnny (Shirley), Alonzo (Shelly), Waverly (Barbara), and Calvin (Doris); two sisters, Velma and Viola (Harvey); two other sisters-in-law, Daisy and Patricia; one other brother-in-law, Alonzo Pugh; and a host of other relatives and friends.
