Ezell Hendricks

EZELL HENDRICKS, daughter of the late Edgar Hendricks, Sr. and Eva Kimball Hendricks, was born on April 17, 1939, in Halifax County, North Carolina. She departed this physical life and received her heavenly wings on Friday, February 24, 2017, at her home in Littleton, North Carolina, surrounded by her loved ones and caregivers.

During her early life, Ezell joined the White Oak Baptist Church in Enfield, North Carolina, and remained a faithful Christian throughout her life. Her formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System, and she graduated from the former Eastman High School in Enfield, North Carolina. Upon graduation, she relocated to Newark, New Jersey, became a member of the Macedonia Church of Christ, and began employment with Mold Cast in Pine Brook, New Jersey. After several years with Mold Cast, she became employed with International Vitamin Corporation in Irvington, New Jersey, where she remained for over twenty-five years and received numerous awards for her hard work and dedication.

Ezell was blessed with one son, Ron Tito Hendricks, who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and son, she was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Edgar Hendricks, Jr. and John Hendricks; and two nephews, Calvin Hendricks and Timothy Hendricks.

Those remaining to share everlasting memories of her life and treasure the legacy of her love are her sister, Goldie Hendricks of Littleton, NC; her nephew, John Jefferson (Audrey) of Enfield, NC; her niece, Caroline Hoke of Charlotte, NC; one great-nephew, Lavonte Taylor of Vaughan, NC; four great-nieces, Kayla, Kelsey, and Kamoria of Charlotte, NC, and Caitera  Brewer of Virginia; her very special friends with whom she bonded and formed lasting relationships, Ester Jefferson, who was there to assist with making her final days as comfortable as possible; Maxine Johnston, with whom she enjoyed walking, shopping, and visiting numerous churches; and Elder Keith Oden, whom she thought of as a son; also a host of other relatives, special friends, and neighbors whose company she truly enjoyed.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, March 3, 2017, at the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, Bowers Road, Littleton, NC. Rev. Will C. Tabron will eulogize, and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
