Deacon Aaron Mark Williams transitioned from this earthly life on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at UNC Nash Health Care in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He was born to the late Robert Jackson Williams and Mary Jane Pullen Williams on July 31, 1932, in Halifax County, North Carolina.
His formal education was received in the Public School System of Halifax County and became employed as a Brick Machine Operator at Nash Brick Company in Enfield, North Carolina.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Virture Sylver, who preceded him in death. This union was blessed with three daughters and one son.
He was one of the founding members of the Walter’s Chapel Holiness Church in Hollister, North Carolina, from its inception, under the leadership of Elder Tom A. Lynch. He served faithfully as a Deacon for sixty-three years and approximately forty-five years as Chairman of the Deacon Board, sang as a tenor in the senior choir, was church sexton, church treasurer, and Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Southern Central District.
Those remaining to forever treasure the precious years of his life are his three daughters, Gwendolyn Richardson of Rocky Mount, NC, Wanda Dilworth of Richmond, VA, and Chryalene and Felton Whitfield of Portsmouth, VA; one son, Alphonso Williams of Roanoke Rapids, NC; one brother, Nay Charles Williams (Marie) of Richmond, VA; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 3, 2019, at the Walter’s Chapel Holiness Church, 1857 Ita Road, Hollister, NC. Pastor William M. Ragland, Jr. will deliver the eulogy, and he will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. The body will repose at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon – 8:30 P.M. on Saturday, February 2, 2019.
