Cynthia Janet Silver

CaptureCYNTHIA JANET SILVER answered the Lord’s call to her eternal home on Friday, February 7, 2014, at her home in Littleton, North Carolina. She was born to the late Ollie and Odelia Silver on April 14, 1960, in Halifax County, North Carolina.

During her early life she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and became a dedicated member of the Cornerstone Holiness Church in Littleton, North Carolina. She enjoyed serving the Lord as President of both the Gospel Choir and the Missionary Department.

Cynthia received her formal education in the public schools of Halifax County, North Carolina, and she graduated from the former Eastman High School in Enfield, North Carolina, with the class of 1978. She  received her Bachelor’s Degree from Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina, and was pursuing a Master’s Degree from Cambridge College in Virginia, until ill health prevailed.

Cynthia was an exceptional mother, mentor, and friend to her daughter, family, and everyone whose life she touched in numerous ways. Her special anointing was always prevalent in the glow of her eyes, coupled with her warm, infectious smile. She was a peacekeeper with an uncanny ability to calm others and help bring family and friends together by sharing her God-given blessings.  She found great joy in serving her community as a member of the National Association of University Women, Democratic Women of Halifax County, NAACP, Committee to Save Education in Halifax County (Eastman Chapter), and many other civic organizations.

Those remaining to forever honor the everlasting reflections of her life and love are her daughter, Janice Silver of Nashville, NC; two brothers, Ollie Silver, Jr. of Nashville, NC, and Benny Manley (Lizzie) of Youngsville, NC; one sister, Sherry Hardy (Welford) of Hollister, NC; two nieces, Shawn Manley and Demini Pierre; six nephews, Keith Manley, Welford Hardy, Jr., Sherrod Hardy, Brandon Saunders, Demetrius Silver, and Bryson Dunston; one aunt, Pamela Silver of Newport News, VA; two uncles, Marvin Lewis Manley (Mattie) of Rocky Mount, NC, and Forest Silver of Enfield, NC; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends who will all miss her earthly presence and the special way she endeared their lives.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at the Pine Chapel Baptist Church in Hollister. Elder Frederick Williams will eulogize, and Rev. Robert Hedgepeth will preside. Burial will follow in the Cornerstone Holiness Church cemetery in Littleton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 14, 2014.
