Catherine “Lean” Webb Caine

Catherine “Lean” Webb Caine, daughter of the late Johnny Webb and Caroline Gee Webb, was born on December 11, 1923, in Halifax County, North Carolina. She entered into eternal rest and peace on Friday, March 27, 2015, at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

Her formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System. During her early life, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, was baptized, and became a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. In her later years, she joined the Fidelity Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina, where she was a dedicated member of the Mother Board, the Senior Choir, and the Mass Choir. One of her greatest loves was singing and praising God. She later formed her own family singing group, The Family Echoes. She also enjoyed being an active member of the Littleton Senior Citizens’ Club.

Catherine lost her parents at a very young age. Being the oldest of seven children, she assumed the responsibility of raising all of her siblings. All but one has preceded her in death. Her surviving sister, Beatrice Burnette, lives on to celebrate the legacy that her loving big sister has left for all of us to share. She truly treasured the times spent with her best friend, Mary Wilcox, and during her more seasoned years, she enjoyed and cherished the times spent with her great-grandson, Devin.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Fletcher Caine, Sr., who preceded her in death. God blessed this union with seven children, three of which, have predeceased her, William Caine, James “Woodie” Caine, and Barbara Caine.

Her sweet spirit lives today and forever more in the hearts of her children, Fletcher Caine, Jr. of the home, Robert Caine (Debra) of Brooklyn, NY, and Jane C. Faulcon (Joe) and Johnny Caine (Phyllis) all of Littleton, NC; two sisters-in-law, Endie Webb of Littleton, NC, and Celeste Brown of Roanoke Rapids, NC; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a great-grandson of the heart, Corey Elliott; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at the Fidelity Baptist Church in Littleton, NC. Bishop Roy L. Foots will eulogize, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will repose at the funeral home until 8:30 P.M. on Monday, March 30, 2015.
