ARCHIE LEE ALSTON, SR., son of the late Henry Alston and Lydia Shearin Alston, was born on July 28, 1941, in Warren County, North Carolina, and departed this earthly life on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.
His formal education was received in the Warren County Public School System, and he became a member of the Greater Lovely Hill Baptist Church in the Embro community of Vaughan, North Carolina. He was employed with Jack Lambert Logging Company in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, and retired after forty years of loyal service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Milton Stanley “Rudy” Price; his granddaughter, Ne’Keisha Alston; three brothers, Willie, James, and Roger Alston; and three sisters, Malinda Sellers, Marie Taylor, and Ernestine Denning.
Those remaining with treasured memories of his life and love are his wife, Mary Ann Alston of the home; three sons, Melvin Alston (Latricia) of Littleton, NC, Archie Lee Alston, Jr. (Sharon) of Weldon, NC, and Alvin Alston (Katie) of Gaston, NC; three sisters, Nancy Giles of Portsmouth, VA, Nettie Cox of Norfolk, VA, and Virginia Crawford (Clarence) of Richmond, VA; a special nephew, Te’Shon Price of the home; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including his very good friend, James Taylor.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Robinson Funeral Home Chapel, 215 US Highway 158, Littleton, NC. Rev. Milton R. Solomon, Jr. will deliver the eulogy, and burial will follow in the Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Littleton. The body will repose at the funeral home until 8:30 P.M. on Friday, April 8, 2016.
