Annie Virginia Alston Faulcon

It has pleased the Almighty God to remove from our presence a dear Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. On Thursday, May 1, 2014, our dearly beloved Annie Virginia Alston Faulcon peacefully departed this earthly life and entered into the everlasting presence of our God. She was born on June 2, 1928, in Halifax County North Carolina, to the late George W. Alston and Carrie Brown Alston.

During her early life, she professed her love and faith in Jesus Christ and joined the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina, where she remained a faithful member, actively worshiping God, and serving her church in the choir, usher board, and missionary ministries, and also in any other capacity in which she was asked to participate until her health began to fail.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Reddick Faulcon, Sr., who preceded her in death. God blessed this union with thirteen children.

Annie, with her warm and loving heart, dedicated her life to serving others. She was employed as a CNA at the former Guardian Care Nursing Home in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, until her retirement after many years of dedicated service. Even after retiring, she continued to serve numerous people with her loving hands.

Annie “Mama” will be greatly missed and forever remembered for her smiling face, humbleness, caring ways, and her love of HATS! Her favorite saying throughout her life to her family and friends was, “I’m going to run on and see what the end will be.” When she was asked how she was doing, she would say, “I’m pretty and good.” No matter what her circumstance was in life, she remained humble and would say, “Thank you” for any gesture of kindness shown to her. To show her love for the Creator, she would always lift her hands to the Almighty and give Him Hallelujah praise.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, Evelyn Mitchell and Carrie Woodson; and two sons, Jerry Faulcon and Earl Faulcon, Sr.

Those left to share in the loving and special memories of her life are her four daughters, Tabitha Faulcon-Smith of the home, Sandra Flood and Sylvia Munn of Newport News, VA, and Evon Barnes (Simon) of Hampton, VA; five sons, Melvin and Ronald Faulcon of Raleigh, NC, Jasper Faulcon (Thomasine) of Halifax, NC, B. Lynell Faulcon (Barbara) of Churchview, VA, and Reddick Faulcon, Jr. (Dorothy) of Roanoke Rapids, NC;  another daughter–in-law, Beverly Faulcon of Roanoke Rapids, NC; one sister, Pennina Hardy of Orlando, FL; one brother, Joe Alston of Lakeland, FL; one brother-in-law, Marvin Faulcon (Helen) of Raleigh, NC; her loving best friend and sister-in-law, Addie Faulcon of Littleton, NC; her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Littleton, NC. The Pastor, Rev. Dr. Vernon Bryant, will eulogize, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will repose at the funeral home until 8:30 P.M. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014.
