Allen Ivey “Ivory” Hardy

ALLEN  IVEY “IVORY”  HARDY was born to the late Ivey Hardy and Virginia  Powell Hardy on June 28, 1954, in Warren County, North Carolina.  He departed this earthly life on Thursday, July 30, 2020, in Littleton, North Carolina.

“Ivory” received his formal education in the Halifax County Public School System and attended the former McIver High School in Littleton, North Carolina. He became employed as a butcher in the meat packing industry in New York.

“Ivory” enjoyed putting model cars together and was known for his love of working on cars.

In addition to his parents, “Ivory” was preceded in death by three sisters, Ernestine, Linda Faye, and Martha Mae; and two brothers, Ulysses and Martin.

Those remaining to forever share the memory of his life are his two sons, Lorenzo Hardy (Rasheeda) of Philadelphia, PA, and Quentin Hardy of North Carolina; one grandson, Micah; his sister, Carolyn Hardy Smart of Newark, NJ; three nieces, Capri Smart, Tawanda Jones, and Felicia Jones; two nephews, Charles Smart and Anthony John; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 Noon. Rev. Richard L. Battle will deliver the eulogy, and burial will follow in the South Street Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Bacon Road, Littleton, NC. Because of Covid-19, the CDC guidelines will be followed for all services by limiting the number of persons in attendance. For the viewing, only five persons will be allowed to enter at any one time.
