DEACONESS ALBERTA FAULCON “Bird” SOLOMON, the daughter of the late Willie Faulcon and Elvira Neville Faulcon, was born on April 1, 1935, in Halifax County, North Carolina.
Alberta received her formal education in the Halifax County Public School System.
During her early life, Alberta professed her faith in Jesus Christ, was baptized, and began her spiritual journey at the Roanoke Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina, under the leadership of the late Rev. R. H. Kidd. She remained a faithful and dedicated member until her demise.
In 1953, Alberta was united in Holy Matrimony to Milton Solomon, Sr., who preceded her in death. This union was blessed with four children.
For numerous years, Alberta was employed as a weaver at the former J.P. Stevens /Bibb Company in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.
On Friday, August 21, 2020, Alberta peacefully departed this earthly life in the comfort of her home in Littleton, North Carolina, where she received special care and comfort from her devoted, loving children.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alberta was preceded in death by her three brothers, John Willis Faulcon (Maude), Eugene Faulcon (Rosetta), and James W. Faulcon; and two sisters, Mary Frances F. Mills (John Thomas) and Idell F. Brown.
Her sweet spirit lives today and forever more in the hearts and minds of her children, Rev. Milton R. Solomon, Jr. of Littleton, NC, Reginald Solomon (Ofelia) of Richmond, VA, Carmen Reed-Gills (Calvin) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Michael Solomon (Carma) of Harrisburg, PA; her grandchildren, Rielle Solomon, Samantha Tamica Reed, Sammy Lee Reed, Jr., Sherrreka Elizabeth Turner, Reggie John Solomon (Tarsenna), Ofelia Renee’ Solomon, and Mickayla Bene’e Solomon; her great-grandchildren, Rayn, Ryan, and Remell Solomon, Saleigha Reed, MiKiah Mason, Senayia Little, Adonis and Reyna Reid, and Raiden and Remale Solomon; her sisters, Viola “Betty Ruth” Faulcon of Littleton, NC, and Eva F. Ravenell of Harrisburg, PA; those she thought of as her own, Terry Williams (Angela) and family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including two life-long friends, Martha Pearl Faulcon and Mary Harris Margerum, who will all miss her greatly and forever cherish the memories of the precious times spent together.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 28, 2020, at the Roanoke Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1991 Roanoke Chapel Road, Littleton, NC. The Pastor, Rev. Timothy Edwards, will deliver the eulogy. Because of Covid-19, the CDC guidelines will be followed for all services by limiting the number of persons in attendance. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020, from 7:00-9:00 P.M. at Robinson Funeral Home, 215 US Highway 158, Littleton, NC. Only five persons will be allowed to enter at any one time. Per Alberta’s request, in lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the family.
