William “Joe” Goins, Jr., son of the late Jack Goins and Beulah Stansbury Goins, was born on September 1, 1946, in Littleton, North Carolina. He departed this earthly life on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at his home in Littleton, North Carolina.
His formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System, and he graduated from the former McIver High School in Littleton, North Carolina, with the class of 1965.
“Joe” was a loving father, pa-pa, brother and friend. His greatest joy was spending time with his daughter, Bessie, and granddaughter, Kaylan. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and sharing the bounty of his crops with neighbors and friends.
In addition to his parents, “Joe” has now joined his oldest daughter, Rita, and his very special friend, Jean Harris, who have gone on before.
Those remaining to share the memory of his life and love are his devoted daughter, Bessie Goins Daye (Sherman), and his precious granddaughter, Kaylan Daye all of Littleton, NC; his brother, Roy Goins (Rosa) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his sister, Eula Whitehead (Terrence) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; one uncle, Henry Goins (Bernice) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; one aunt, Maryland Ellis (O’Shell) ,also of Roanoke Rapids, NC; five nephews, two nieces, and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at the funeral home. Elder Frederick Williams will eulogize, and a private burial will follow in the Stansbury Family Cemetery, Weavers Chapel Church Road, Littleton.
