WALTER “MAN” HUBBARD, JR. was born to the late Walter Hubbard, Sr. and Lizzie Harvey Hubbard Allen on July 14, 1937, in Halifax County, North Carolina. He peacefully departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at the Enfield Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Enfield, North Carolina.
During his early life, Walter accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and became a member of the St. Mark Holiness Church in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. His formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System.
He was employed with the former J.P. Stevens and Company in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, for numerous years.
“Man” was a loving caring person, and everyone who knew him loved him. He will be forever remembered by those whose lives he touched in so many special ways.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Those remaining to forever treasure the precious memory of his life and love are his two sons, Walter Hubbard II and Bobby Hubbard; two daughters, Dorothy Jones and Doreen McWilliams; two sisters, Beulah Marshall and Vonicell Clements; a very special friend and companion, Shirley Jordan, who was his soulmate, and they cherished each other with God’s loving hand; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 17, 2015, at Robinson Funeral Home, 215 US Highway 158, in Littleton, NC. Rev. Milton R. Solomon, Jr. will deliver the eulogy, and burial will follow in the Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, NC. The body will repose at the funeral home until 8:30 P.M. on Wednesday, December 16, 2015.
