Deaconess Viola Louise Carter Greene

Deaconess Viola Louise Carter Greene was born to the late Robert Perry Carter and Bertha Mae Powell Carter on July 12, 1943, in Warren County, North Carolina. She transitioned from this earthly life to her heavenly home on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Durham Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.

During her early life, she professed faith in Jesus Christ and became a member of the Olive Grove Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. She later joined her husband at the Pleasant Zion Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina, where she remained and served as a Deaconess, sang in the choir, participated in Sunday school, and attended bible study. Her formal education was received in the Warren County Public School System.

Viola was united in Holy Matrimony to Earlie Greene, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2011. God blessed this union with five children. She loved taking care of home and possessed a clear, well-defined perception of what family really means. Her passion for attending church was evident in her contagious spirit to serve and impact the lives of others in a positive manner. Cooking and flower gardening were two of her favorite pastimes, and she enjoyed sharing the fruits of her labor.

Those remaining to forever treasure the precious memory of her life and love are her four daughters, Helen Herbert (Cornelius) of Gaston, NC, Della Greene and Delsie Greene of the home, and Catherine Correll (John) of Creedmoor, NC; one son, Earlie Greene, Jr. (Melody) of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren, Chikia Clark (Ramone), Stefon, Davon, Shontel, Stefanee, Shaunice, Briawna, and Kevon; four great-grandchildren, Dayshawn, My’Angel, Elijah, and Emmanuel; five sisters, Artelia Fitts (Henry) of Littleton, NC, Lottie Cooper and Olivia Cooper of Macon, NC, Elma Taylor (Leroy) of Vaughan, NC, and Bertha Paige of Warrenton, NC; two brothers, Henry Carter (Eyvonne) of Henderson, NC, and Richard Carter of Richmond, VA; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Jasper Greene, Jimmy Greene (Etta), and Pearlene Byrd (David); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, 215 US Highway 158, Littleton, NC. Bishop McArthur Vincent will eulogize, and burial will follow in the Pleasant Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Littleton, NC. The body will repose at the funeral home until 8:30 P.M on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, and for one hour prior to the funeral time.
