SUSIE ELIZABETH DANIEL WEBB, daughter of the late Obie Daniel and Claudia Pitt Daniel Fleming, was born on October 5, 1946, in Halifax County, North Carolina.
During her early life, she confessed faith in Jesus Christ and joined the Quankey Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, and later moved her membership to the London Missionary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, where she remained until her death.
Susie was united in Holy Matrimony to George Lee Webb, who preceded her in death. God blessed this union with four loving children. She was a devoted wife and mother, a loving grandmother, sister, and aunt, and a sincere friend who was loved by all who knew her. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched in so many special ways with for her humble spirit and kind, loving heart.
On Friday, April 10, 2015, she departed this earthly life at Signature Health Care in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, with her two dedicated daughters, Patricia and Claudie, sitting at the foot of her bed.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Faulcon, her four brothers, Obie, Jr., Willie D., Coley, and Collin Daniel; and her three stepbrothers, Alvin, Woodrow, and Ernest Fleming.
Those remaining to cherish the precious memory of her life and love are her children, Patricia Webb-Solomon of the home; George K. Webb (Hazel) of Manassas, VA, Claudie B. Webb-Hill (Oscar) of Halifax, NC, and Attorney Sammy D. Webb of Roanoke Rapids, NC; six granddaughters, her princesses, LaToya Shantele Webb, Candise Denise Webb-Newell, La’Angie
Adele Solomon, Kendre D’Resha Webb, Juanita N’Jeri Webb, and Sammi Da’Vis Webb; five great-grandsons, her princes, Simon D. and Silas D. Young, Jamarius Lee Newell, Eric Caleb Walker, Jr., and Jacquez Lee Newell; three sisters, Shirley D. Jones, Zenora D. Matthews, and Frances D. Hawkins all of Roanoke Rapids, NC; one brother, Ervin Daniel of Roanoke Rapids, NC; one stepsister, Sophronia Fleming of Roanoke Rapids, NC; four stepbrothers, Curtis and Garland Fleming of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Lawrence Fleming of Chicago, IL, and Milton Fleming of Newark, NJ; a very special niece who was like a daughter, Deborah W. Johnson of Brooklyn, NY; six brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; her very special caretaker, Mildred Everett; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the London Missionary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Rev. Danny Jones will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will repose until 8:30 P.M. on Friday, April 17, 2015, at the funeral home, and at the church for one hour prior to the funeral time.
