Sarah Elizabeth Crump Davis

SARAH ELIZABETH CRUMP DAVIS, beloved daughter of the late Stokes Crump and Rebecca Rawlings Crump, was born on October 6, 1928, in Brunswick County, Virginia, and answered God’s call to eternal peace on Monday, August 8, 2016, at the home of her son in Apex, North Carolina.

Her formal education was received in the Northampton County Public School System. During her early life, she confessed faith in God and throughout all the trials and tribulations, She joined Devine Street Church of Christ in Littleton, North Carolina. She later transferred her membership to the Only Way Church of Christ in Macon, North Carolina. In later years, she found a Godly home at Refuge Church of Christ in Littleton, North Carolina, where she remained a faithful member and was the eldest missionary.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Lester Davis, Sr. of Waverly, Virginia, who preceded her in death. To this union, six children were born. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, homemaker, and friend who will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she inspired with her sweet spirit and voice of wisdom.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Beatrice Lesesne; and all of her siblings.

Those remaining to forever share the legacy of her life and treasure the memories of her love are her three daughters, Rachel Davis of Queens, NY, Marylean Davis of Littleton, NC, and Carolyn Brown (Medicus) of Knightdale, NC; two sons, Lester Davis, Jr. of Littleton, NC, and Joseph Davis of Raleigh, NC; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends, including a very special friend, Margaret Nicholson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 14, 2016, at the Refuge Church of Christ in Littleton, NC. The Pastor, Elder Fred Martin, Sr., will eulogize, and Elder Fred Martin, Jr., will preside. Burial will follow in the Robinson Cemetery in Littleton, NC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00-8:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 13, 2016.
