PATRICIA ANN ”PAT” SNOW CARTER, daughter of the late Whit Snow, Sr. and Margaret Peggy Mills Snow, was born on March 27, 1953, in Warren County, North Carolina. She answered God’s call to eternal rest and peace on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, surrounded by her loving family.
During her early life, Patricia professed faith in Jesus Christ, was baptized, and became a member of the Pleasant Zion Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. After relocating to Washington, DC, she joined the Isle of Patmos Church and served as a Missionary, sang in the Chorus, and was active in the Food Service Ministry. Pat was a true Sister in Christ, always reading and studying the Bible.
Patricia’s formal education was received in the Warren County Public School System, and she graduated from the former Littleton High School in Littleton, North Carolina. She then attended Halifax Community College in Weldon, North Carolina, where she always excelled in her studies. “Pat” was employed as an Accountant for over thirty-five years with major companies, including Darcars and Volkswagon of America. She also held managerial positions with numerous other establishments, and was a certified Notary Public in the surrounding Metropolitan areas.
“Pat” was united in Holy Matrimony to Renald “Coy” Carter. This union was blessed with two sons, Anthony and Jermaine. She was a devoted, loving wife, mother and grandmother.
“Pat” always encouraged others in the good times and the bad times. Her mother, Peggy, taught her to be a salt shaker and to shine her light wherever she went in the world. “We must be used by God to pass the salt in our friends and family members’ lives. We must also be the salt to strangers. The Bible says we may be entertaining angels unaware.” Hebrews 13:2. Pat enjoyed spending time cooking for family and friends, especially fried chicken and deviled eggs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Whit Snow, Jr.; and one sister, Delores “Dee” Hicks.
Those left to treasure the precious memory of her life and to share the legacy of her love are her husband, Renald McCoy; her sons, Anthony (April) and Jermaine; eight grandchildren, Courtney, Marcia, Sariai, Nakaya, Jermaine, Jr., Tristan, Ariel, and Arquise; three sisters, Hattie (Steve), Evelina, and Margaret (Dwight); one brother, James Snow; one aunt, Mary Mills Carter; her father-in-law, Fred Carter, Sr.; one brother-in-law, Wayne Carter (Faye); one sister-in-law, Gwen Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Olive Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 915 Eaton Ferry Road, Littleton, NC, on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 12:00 Noon with a viewing at 11:00 A.M. The Pastor, Rev. Charles E. Walton, will deliver the eulogy, and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
