Milton Stanley “Rudy” Price, son of Archie Alston, Sr. and Mary Price Alston, was born on May 30, 1961, in Halifax County, North Carolina. He answered God’s call to eternal rest and peace on Monday, October 26, 2015, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.
During his early life, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, was baptized, and became a member of the Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. His formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System, and he attended Northwest Halifax High School in Littleton, North Carolina.
“Rudy” was a loving devoted son, brother, and friend whose quiet manner, kindness, and willingness to serve others will be forever remembered as his legacy. His passion was music and driving. He was known as the community chauffeur and would take anyone anywhere they needed to go.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Henry and Lydia Alston; his maternal grandparents, Melinda Ricks and Emmett Alston; five aunts, Emily Royster, Reatha Sykes, Melinda Settles, Marie Taylor, and Ernestine Denning; three uncles, Willie, James, and Roger Alston; and one niece, Keisha Alston.
Those left to treasure the precious memory of his life and share the spirit of his love are his parents, Archie and Mary Alston of the home; three brothers, Melvin Alston (Latricia) of Littleton, NC, Archie Alston, Jr. (Sharon) of Lothian, MD, and Alvin Alston (Katie) of Gaston, NC; Five aunts, Mable Fennell of Littleton, NC, Nancy Giles (Bernard) of Portsmouth, VA, Nettie Cox of Norfolk, VA, and Virginia Crawford (Clarence) and Vernice Alston all of Richmond, VA; one uncle, Samuel Ray Alston of New Jersey; one great-uncle, Linwood Alston of Littleton, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at Robinson Funeral Home in Littleton, NC. Rev. Milton R. Solomon, Jr. will officiate, and burial will follow in the Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Littleton. The body will repose at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until 8:30 P.M. on Friday, October 30, 2015.
