Mavrice Faye Alston Avon was born to the late James Alston and Catherine White Alston on October 30, 1951, in Halifax County, North Carolina. She peacefully answered God’s summon from this earthly life on Friday, February 9, 2018, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.

She later sought and gained employment from the former J.P. On June 1st, 1984, Mavrice was united in Holy Matrimony to her pride and joy, Robert Avon, Jr. Over the past thirty-three years, their vows of “for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part” were truly exemplified in every way.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, James E. White.
