MARTHA ELISA HARVILLE was born to the late William M. Harville and Mary E. Hines Harville on December 14, 1961, In Littleton, North Carolina, and was the youngest of four brothers and two sisters. On Tuesday, August 1, 2017, she answered God’s call to eternal rest and peace at Kennedy University Hospital in Stratford, New Jersey.
During her early life, Martha accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the Springfield Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. Her formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System, and she graduated from Northwest Halifax High School in Littleton, North Carolina, with the class of 1980. She later attended Halifax Community College in Weldon, North Carolina, and earned several degrees and certifications. She became employed in Nash County, North Carolina, as a Certified Nursing Assistant with disabled young adults and remained in that profession for many years. She later settled in Camden County, New Jersey, and resided there until her demise.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by three brothers, Calvin Dennis Harville, Theophilous Harville, and Melvin Harville; two nieces, Keysha Lewis and Shana Boone; and her long-time special friend, Charles Beehler, who loved her and took care of her until his accidental death just three months ago.
Those remaining to forever reflect on the precious memories of her life are her two sisters, Jacqueline Lewis (Clarence) of Willingboro, NJ, and Deborah Faulcon (David) of Littleton, NC; two brothers, Theodore Harville (Uzella) of Littleton, NC, and Randolf Whitaker (Burnie) of Jarrett, VA; eight nieces, Dana Harville (James), Jernell Harville, and Jenee Harville all of Balltimore, MD, Kenia Givens (Corey) of Charlotte, NC, Shernita Harville of Raleigh, NC, Davetta Faulcon and Dajia Faulcon of Littleton, NC, and Annetta Webb (Stanley) of Beach Park, IL; two nephews, Theodore Harville and Cedric Harville, Sr. of Baltimore, MD; four great-nieces, Nylah Babb of Baltimore, MD, Kiundra Harville and Monesha Walden of Raleigh, NC, and MiKayla Webb of Beach Park, IL; seven great-nephews, Corey, Jr., Caleb, and Carson Givens all of Charlotte, NC, Colin Hinnant, DeAndre and Cedric Harville, Jr. all of Baltimore, MD, and M arkell Webb of Beach Park, IL; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at the funeral home. Rev. John Rooks will eulogize, and burial will follow in the Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, NC. The body will repose at the funeral home until 8:30 P.M. on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.
