Lovely J. Walker

Lovely J. “Poopain” Walker, son of Pennie Tabron Walker and  the late John Walker, Sr., was born on June 28, 1959, in Halifax County, North Carolina, and departed this earthly life on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at his home in Enfield, North Carolina, surrounded by his loving family.

Lovely was a loving son, husband, father, and friend. His relationship with Christ showed vibrantly through his personality and caring heart. He loved music and was highly skilled at playing the guitar. As the Minister of music at Phillipi Church of Christ, he was known for being “DANGEROUS” on the guitar. His spiritual gift allowed him to play lead  and bass guitar for Robert Walker and the Gospel Travelers, Larry Moore and the Faithful Aires, Brothers in Christ, and United Gospel Travelers, just to name a few.

Lovely was employed with Tidewater Utility Construction Company for twenty years, and was  devoted and loyal to his profession and the company.

Lovely believed in putting family first. He never allowed anything to come between him and his love for those for whom he cared. He will be truly missed and never forgotten. The legacy of “Poopain” will live forever.

Those remaining to forever treasure the precious memory of his life and love are his wife, Barbara Harvey Walker of the home; his children, Sherry Easley (Shanita), KeDaryl and JeDaryl Rainey, Antwan “Huggie” Corprew (Toi), Carl Wilson, and Timothy Easley, ; twelve grandchildren; his mother, Pennie Tabron Walker; his siblings, Samuel “Boot” (Wanda), Robert “Nan” (Terri), John Jr. “Pistol”, Cynthia “Lucky”, and Carlton “Soul Man”; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Harvey; his sisters-in-law, Demetris and Diann; his brother-in-law, Dennis; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.

 

A celebration of life will be held from 4:00-6:00 P.M. on Monday, September 18, 2017, at Robinson Funeral Home, 215 US Highway 158, Littleton, NC. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at Trinity Faith Diamond Church, 1023 Deep Creek Blvd., Chesapeake, Virginia. The Pastor, Bishop Olleo L. Cromwell,II, will preside, and Bishop Cleveon Bryant will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery in Portsmouth, Virginia.
