Lillian Clattie Hopkins Price, daughter of the late John H. Hopkins and Savannah Pullen Hopkins, was born on March 29, 1936, in Halifax County, North Carolina, and entered into eternal rest and peace on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.
Her formal education was received in the public school system of Halifax County, North Carolina. During her early life, she was baptized and joined the Bear Swamp Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina, and later became a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland.
Lillian met, fell in love, and married John Henry Price in November 1952, and shortly afterwards relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, where they resided for forty-two years. This union was blessed with five children. One son, Mark P. Price, and one daughter, Dorothy Coley, preceded her in death.
Her employment included working as a waitress, working in the laundry industry, and she was also a seamstress.
In addition to her parents and children, she was predeceased by four sisters, Florence Simmons, Katie Williams, Mary Belle Henderson, and Easter Tony Hopkins; and three brothers, Lawrence, Johnny, and Dennis Hopkins, and her daughter-in-law, Rene Griffin Price.
Those remaining to share the legacy of her love and to treasure the beautiful memories of her life are her Loving, devoted husband, John Henry Price; her children, JoeAnn Price Wilson (Charlton), John Willie Price, and Joseph Lee Price; her grandchildren, Anthony J. Price (Catalina), Keita N. Fisher, Phillp Akai, Kendra Quickley, Michael McAllister, and Nicole C. Meyers; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frankie Hawkins and Jay Collick; three brothers-in-law, Dee Price (Dorothy), Edward Price (Nancy), and Willie Price (Michele); one sister-in-law, Bettie Lynch; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at the Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church in Littleton, NC. The Pastor, Rev. Jeffrey M. Anderson, will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will repose at the funeral home until 8:30 P.M. on Monday, April 13, 2014.
