Lauretta Jean “Pinky” Stovall

LAURETTA JEAN “PINKY” STOVALL was born to Georgianna Phipps Stovall and the late Robert Stovall on July 29, 1962, in Littleton, North Carolina, and transitioned from this earthly life on Friday, August 30, 2019, at her home in Littleton, North Carolina.

Having God as an integral part of her upbringing, “Pinky” was baptized during her early life and became a life-long member of the Cornerstone Holy Church in Littleton, North Carolina.

“Pinky” began her educational journey in the Halifax County Public School System and graduated from Northwest Halifax High School in Littleton, North Carolina, with the class of 1980. She then attended Halifax Community College in Weldon North Carolina, where she became a Certified Nursing Assistant, and was employed at Skilled Creations until her health declined.

Pinky’s hobbies included cooking, fishing, softball, basketball, traveling, and shopping. She enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren.

Those remaining to forever cherish her loving memories and to share the joy of the times they spent together are her devoted son, Jerry Stovall of Littleton, NC; her grandchildren, Jada Stovall of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Joshua Stovall of Littleton, NC; her mother, Georgianna Stovall of Littleton, NC; her siblings, Ruby P. Creech (Rodger) of Rocky Mount, NC, Glennale Phipps (Mable) of Littleton, NC, Avis P. Glaspie of Durham, NC, Wiley Phipps (Vanessa) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Tempie S. Bell (David) of Rougemont, NC; two uncles, Melvin Phipps of Littleton, NC, and David Garner, Sr. of Baltimore, MD; four aunts, Evelyn P. Wills of Newport, News, VA, Earlean Phipps and Endie P. Webb of Littleton, NC, and Naomi R. Phipps of Baltimore, MD;  a longtime special friend, Charmaine Jefferson of Littleton, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, in the chapel of the funeral home. Elder Frederick Williams will deliver the eulogy, and burial will follow in the Phipps Family Cemetery, Phipps Drive, Littleton, NC.
