Jessie Lee Johnson

img051JESSIE LEE JOHNSON was born on December 8, 1981, in Halifax County, North Carolina, to Geraldine Johnson and Willie B. Burgess. He departed this earthly life on Friday, December 19, 2014, at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined the Mount Olive Baptist Church, where he remained a member until his untimely death. His formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System.

Jessie was employed in the farming industry, and he enjoyed working on cars, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family and friends.

Those preceding him in death are both maternal and paternal grandparents; seven aunts; six uncles; and his goddaughter, Jamiyah Richardson.

His life will be forever cherished and his sweet spirit will remain a precious memory to his mother and father, Geraldine Johnson and Willie B. Burgess of the home; two special young ladies whom he loved as his own, Kimyah and Kristen Taylor of Littleton, NC; two brothers, Willie Johnson of Littleton, NC, and Randolph Jefferson of Roanoke Rapids, NC; two sisters – in-law, Tammy Johnson of Littleton, NC, and Joyce Jefferson of Roanoke Rapids, NC; three nieces, Myra Reid of Littleton, NC, Martha Harris of Raleigh, NC, and Falecia Faulcon of Georgia; his special nephew, Willie Reid of Littleton, NC; three other nephews, Terrance Faulcon of Littleton, NC, and Carlos and Anthony Faulcon of Roanoke Rapids, NC; one special aunt, Annie Burgess of Littleton, NC; four other aunts, Pearlene Johnson of Littleton, NC, Velma Johnson and Hazel Nicholson of Enfield, NC; and Sue Johnson of Rocky Mount, NC; two uncles, Walter and Ernest Johnson of Littleton, NC; two special cousins, Kendrell Richardson of Enfield, NC, and Ja’cobi Harvey of Roanoke Rapids, NC; one special friend, Jameke Sellers of Enfield, NC; two special godchildren, Jamarion Webb and Kenijah Richardson of Enfield, NC; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends who will all miss him greatly.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 127 Rock House Road, Littleton, NC. Rev. Mark Barfield will eulogize, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will repose at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, until 8:30 P.M.
