Jerry Lewis Jefferson, Sr.

Jerry Lewis Jefferson, Sr., the son of Lucy Marie Alston Jefferson and the late Claude Jefferson, Sr., was born December 12, 1958, in Halifax County, North Carolina, and departed this earthly life on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Nash General Hospital, Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

Jerry received his education in the public schools of Halifax County, North Carolina.

 

He accepted Christ as his Personal Savior, was baptized and joined the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina.

 

Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and most importantly, a friend. He touched so many different lives and those who came across him always were welcomed with a warming embrace. Jerry had so many different talents.         There was nothing he could not do or accomplish when he set his mind to it. Jerry was the type of man who honored his word in any kind of form or fashion. He was always so willing to offer any type of help to anyone in need.

 

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by: his two sons, Jerry “Snuggle” Jefferson and Michael Lee; his three brothers, Claude Jefferson, Jr., Calvin “Pike” Jefferson and Tinsley Jefferson.

 

Those left with precious memories of his life are his loving wife of twenty-six years, Annette Jefferson of the home; his three daughters, Jerronda Jefferson (Michael) of Littleton, NC, Kristen Draughn (Tyrell) of Rocky Mount, NC, and Danettia Jones of Littleton, NC; his three sons, Brandon Jefferson of Durham, NC, Jerry Jefferson, Jr. of the home and Marcus Jones of Roanoke Rapids, NC; 9 grandsons and 6 granddaughters; his mother, Lucy Jefferson of Littleton, NC; ten sisters, Merdias Robinson (Henry), Janie Faulcon, Donna Mason (Jerry), Edith Taylor (Robert), Jeannette Lee, Daisy Alston (Elvis), Lorraine Jefferson, Susie Jackson, Bobbie Burchette (Thurman) all of Littleton, NC and Linda Fields (Ivery) of Emporia, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, 2 aunts, 4 uncles, 6 sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law, other relatives and many many friends.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 127 Rock House Rd., Littleton, NC. Min. Geno Mitchell will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the chuch cemetery. The body will repose at funeral home from 9:30 A.M. until 8:30 P.M. Friday, April 22, 2016.
