Henry Perry “Teet” Carter

HENRY PERRY “TEET” CARTER was born to the late Robert Perry Carter and Bertha Mae Powell Carter on April 3, 1945, in Warren County, North Carolina. He transitioned from this earthly life and entered the Heavenly realm on Friday, February 8, 2019, at Maria Parham Health in Henderson, North Carolina.

During his early life, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, was baptized, and became a member of the Olive Grove Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. His formal education was received in the Warren County Public School System.

On December 9, 1968, “Teet” was united in marriage to the former Yvonne Alston. This union was blessed with four children. He was employed for over twenty years at Watergate in Washington, DC, and was a skilled carpenter, an exceptional tonk player, and loved his favorite football team, The Washington Redskins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert David Carter, Willie Arthur Carter, and Loyd Earl Carter; and one sister, Viola Carter Greene.

Those left with precious memories of his life to share are his children, Tonya Carter, Toya Ward, David Carter, and William Carter (Wookie); thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five sisters, Artelia Carter Fitts (Henry), Lottie Carter Cooper, Olivia Carter, Maxine Carter Taylor (Leroy), and Bertha Carter Paige; one brother, Richard Lee Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will all miss his earthly presence.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at the Olive Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 915 Old Eaton Ferry Road, Littleton, NC. The Pastor, Rev. Charles E. Walton, will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will repose at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon – 8:30 P.M. on Friday, February 15, 2019, and at the church for one hour prior to the funeral time.
