On May 27, 1941, Florence “Flo” Vincent was born to the late Charlie Vincent, Sr. and Bertha Vincent in Halifax County, North Carolina, and entered into eternal rest and peace on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.
“Flo” accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior during her early life, was baptized, and joined the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. Her formal education was received in the public schools of Halifax County, North Carolina.
Her home was always open to family and friends. She will always be remembered for the many family gatherings she hosted and for her ability to make everyone around her laugh and smile.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Ann Vincent; her brother, Charlie Vincent, Jr.; her sister, Mattie Vincent; and her niece, Lanell Vincent Hooten.
Those left to cherish the legacy of her love are her children, Sylvester “Bo” Vincent of the home, and Brenda Vincent (Frank) of Littleton, NC; five grandchildren, Roxanne Pitchford (Eric) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Creshawn Vincent, Octavis Vincent, and Sequan Vincent all of Littleton, NC, and Amber Davis of Weldon, NC; five great-grandchildren, Alleyia Arrington, Javion Robinson, Adiamond Sykes, Jazian Sykes, and Octavis Vincent, Jr.; two sisters, Vernisha Harvey and Geneva Vincent of Littleton, NC; one aunt, Annie Hawkins of Littleton, NC; one uncle, Willie B. Burgess of Littleton, NC; a special niece and care giver, Ernestine Faulcon of Littleton, NC; and a host of nephews, other nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends who will all miss her earthly presence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 3, 2014, at Robinson Funeral Home, 215 US Highway 158, Littleton, NC. Rev. Jack Reese, Jr. will deliver the eulogy, and burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Littleton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening, August 2, 2014, from 6:00-7:00 P.M.
