Evelyn Richardson

EVELYN RICHARDSON transitioned from this earthly life on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, in the comfort of her home after a brief struggle with cancer. She was born to Frankie Nicholson Richardson and the late Basie Richardson, on August 7, 1962, in Halifax County, North Carolina.

Her spiritual foundation began during her early life, and she became a member of the Lebanon A.M.E. Church and remained faithful until her health declined. Her formal education was received in the Halifax County School System, and she graduated from the former Eastman High School with the class of 1980. Throughout her life, she became employed with various companies, but her greatest job was caring for and loving her children and grandchildren.

Evelyn was the aunt who opened her home to all of her nieces and nephews and was the babysitter for them all. She loved spending time with her grandchildren whom she adored and loved so dearly. She was a wonderful mother, an amazing grandmother, and a devoted daughter, sister, and friend.

She enjoyed singing in the choir, playing Trouble and watching Family Feud. Her positive outlook on life inspired others, and her beautiful sweet spirit was always welcoming and warm.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Henrietta Richardson Burgess.

Those love ones remaining to celebrate the wonderful memory of her life and love are her three children, Ashley Richardson (Kyshadius) and their children, Jermaine Hale, A’Maurius Richardson, Ky’Shiya Banks and Kyshadius Banks, Jr.; Dan’trel Richardson (Nadira), and their children, Olivia Richardson, Jalen Edwards, and Alayah Richardson; and Donnell Burgess, Jr. (Malacious) and their child, Da’Niyah Burgess; her mother, Frankie Richardson; her siblings, Gloria Evans (Jonathan), Bettie Ingram, Basie Richardson, (Jenna), Marcile Richardson (Avery), Stacey Richardson, Susan Phipps, and Joyce Neville (Kenneth); her brother-of-the-heart, James Lee (Charlane); her brother-in-law-of-the-heart, Kenny Jefferson; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, December 4, 2017, in the chapel of the funeral home. Pastor Joanne Boyd will eulogize, and burial will follow in the Lebanon A.M.E. Church Cemetery, 13285 US Highway 48, Littleton, NC. The body will repose at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until 8:30 P.M. on Sunday, December 3, 2017.
