Ernestine Beulah Alston Lee

ERNESTINE BEULAH “TINE” ALSTON LEE, daughter of the late Herbert Alston and Vergia Williams Alston, was born on May 27, 1929, in Littleton, North Carolina. She departed this earthly life and entered her Heavenly home on Friday, February 8, 2019, at Signature Health Care of Roanoke Rapids in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

Her formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System, and she attended the former McIver High School in Littleton, North Carolina. After furthering her education at Halifax Community College, she became employed as a Teacher’s Assistant  with the Halifax County Public School System for numerous years.

During her early life, “Tine” accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, was baptized, and became a lifetime member of the South Street Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. She was a Mother of the church, sang in the church choir, served as spiritual leader of the Missionary Ministry, was active in the Usher’s Ministry, taught the intermediate Sunday school class, and was always willing to devote her time to the duties of the church where ever she was needed.

“Tine” will be forever remembered for her humbleness of heart, her sweet and kind spirit, the steadfast love she showed for her family, and the compassion she had for her fellowman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Reginald Bernard Lee; and two sisters, Margaretta Taylor and Virginia Mitchell.

Her sweet spirit will forever remain in the hearts and minds of her three sons, Milton Lee (Lugeria) of Weldon, NC, and Ronald Lee and Joseph Lee (Mary Ann) all of Littleton, NC; Her three daughters, Gail Patterson, Lois Lee, and Cassandra Daniels (Albert) all of Littleton, NC; seventeen grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Alston and Cleo Williams of Englewood, NJ; two goddaughters, Arnita Alston and Carolyn Medlin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including two special friends, Rev. Danny Jones and Matthew Whitaker.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, February 15, 2019, at the South Street Missionary Baptist Church, 102 Stokes Street, Littleton, NC. The Pastor, Rev. Robert L. Faulcon, Sr. will deliver the eulogy, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will repose at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon – 8:30 P.M. on Thursday, February 14, 2019, and at the church for one hour prior to the funeral time.
