Ella Mae Richardson

ELLA MAE RICHARDSON, the proud daughter of Melvin “Blow” Harvey and Eula Mae Richardson Harvey, was born on October 13, 1963, in Halifax County, North Carolina. She entered into eternal rest and peace on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Concordia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Henderson, North Carolina.

Ella professed her faith in Jesus Christ, was baptized, and joined the Greater Bethesda Baptist Church in Hollister, North Carolina, under the leadership of Rev. Stanley Ray Richardson.

Her formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System, and she attended the former Eastman High School in Enfield, North Carolina.

Ella enjoyed listening to her gospel songs and blues music, spending time with her family and friends, and devoting herself to the care of her three sons.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by the love of her life, Jerry Johnson.

Those left to forever share the beautiful memories of her life and love are her precious sons, Wanlday Richardson, Jerry Richardson (Justina), and Rance Richardson all of Hollister, NC; one granddaughter, Alona Richardson of Hollister, NC; eight aunts, Margaret, Lucy Mae, and Mabel (Tommy), all of Hollister, NC, Patricia (Lee) of Bailey, NC, Beatrice, Nannie, and Bessie all of Enfield, NC, and Catherine of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and many other relatives and friends including two loyal and devoted friends, Skint and Chuck, who were always willing to lend a helping hand when they were needed.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at the Hollister Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Hollister, NC. Rev. Melvin Johnson will eulogize, and burial will follow in the Harvey-Richardson Family Cemetery, 38 Flicker Lane, Hollister, NC. The body will repose at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, from 3:00 P.M. – 8:30 P.M.
