Eartis “Blue” Rosser

On March 8, 1932, in Nash County, North Carolina, God blessed the late Rev. Baldie Rosser, Sr. and Eula Alston Rosser with a beloved son, Eartis Rosser. He answered God’s call to eternal rest and peace on Thursday, March 19, 2015, in the serenity of his home in Littleton, North Carolina.

During his early life, he professed faith in Christ and became a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. His formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System.

Eartis was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Edith Harris, who preceded him in death. This union was blessed with two loving daughters.

He was employed with the Lakewood Truck Stop in Halifax, North Carolina, and retired after thirty-four years of dedicated service. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Clinton, Herman, and Baldie Rosser, Jr.; and one sister, Bernice R. Harris.

Those left to forever cherish the precious memories of his life are his daughters, Doris Harris and Joyce Fitts (Thomas) all of Littleton, NC; five grandchildren, Dakeyla Rosser (Chris) of Battleboro, NC, Tanika Harris, Kelvin Harris, April Fitts and Brittany Fitts all of Littleton, NC; two great-grandchildren, Timaaz Kearney and Breyan Fitts of Littleton, NC; his siblings, Frank Rosser (Ida), Pearlie Mae Clanton, and Irene Burgess all of Littleton, NC, Robert Rosser (Diane) and Rev. McArthur Rosser all of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Flonnie Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA, and Octavia Rosser of Manhattan, NY; his sister-in-law, Francis Rosser of Littleton, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will all miss his earthly presence and forever remember the special ways he touched their lives.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at the funeral home. Rev. Richard Battle will officiate, and burial will follow in the Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, 127 Rock House Road, Littleton, NC. The body will repose at the funeral home until 8:30 P.M. on Saturday, March 21, 2015.
