DONALD ALVIN “FLIM” FOOTS, JR. was born to Donald Alvin Foots, Sr. and Carol Clanton Foots on March 26, 1970, in Halifax County, North Carolina. He answered God’s summon and transitioned from this earthly journey to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, surrounded by his loving and supportive family.
During his early life, he accepted Jesus Christ into his life and joined the Fidelity Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. His formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System, and he graduated from Northwest Halifax High School in Littleton, North Carolina, with the class of 1988.
“Flim” enjoyed cooking, fishing, family gatherings, and hanging out with his friends. His kind spirit, quiet manner, and respect for others have carved him a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Those remaining to share the treasured memories of “Flim’s” life and love are his parents, Donald and Carol Foots of the home; his son, Donavan Foots of Whitakers, NC; his sister, Telisa Foots Gibson (Billy) of Fayetteville, NC; two maternal aunts, Bessie C. Foots of Piscataway, NJ, and Joanie C. Payne of Fayetteville, NC; one paternal uncle, Calvin Foots of Piscataway, NJ; three maternal uncles, Leon Clanton (Barbara) of Landover, MD, Alfred Clanton (Elaine) of Plainfield, NJ, and Kelvin Clanton (Tegra) of Baltimore, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including his two loyal, very best friends since kindergarten, Shawn Jenkins and Troy Carter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Littleton, NC. The Pastor, Rev. Dr. C. E. McCollum, will deliver the eulogy, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held only at the funeral home on Friday, June 3, 2016, until 8:30 P.M.
