DEANIE MAE SNOW CARTER was born to the late Lawrence Jackson and Jane Ruth Johnson on March 23, 1935, in Skippers, Virginia, and peacefully entered into eternal rest and peace on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at her home in Littleton, North Carolina, surrounded by her loving family.
During her early life she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, was baptized, joined the Olive Grove Baptist Church, and remained faithful until her health began to fail. Her formal education was received in the Warren County Public School System.
Deanie was united in marriage to Willie Carter, Jr., who preceded her in death. God blessed this union with two sons. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who enjoyed dancing, exercising, and writing poetry. She was a happy person who left a lasting impression on the lives of those she knew and was a mother to everybody she touched. There was no one on this earth that she did not love. She was loud, proud, and glad to be alive, yet, you did not have to see her to recognize her presence. Her encouraging words of advice will always be appreciated and long remembered.
Those left to cherish the precious memory of her life and share the legacy of her love are her two sons, Lang Carter (Lisa Williams) and Samuel Carter (Shelia Carter); her seven grandchildren, Amber Y. Carter, Samaria M. Carter, Lang C. Carter, Jr., Wesley K. Hawkins, Shelana A. Carter, Zavian L. Carter, and Jada L. Carter; one great-grandchild, Laila M. Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Deanie will now be joined with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and will dance with her husband in Heaven for eternity.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 20, 2016, at the Olive Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 915 Eaton Ferry Road, Littleton, NC. The Pastor, Rev. Charles E. Walton, will eulogize, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 19, 2016.
