DEACON HARDY LEE MILAM was born on April 26, 1932, in Warren County, North Carolina, to the late James Milam and Issa Bell Ellis Milam. He entered into eternal rest and peace on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.
He was educated in the Warren County Public School System. At an early age, he joined the Pine Grove Baptist Church where he was a faithful member until he married the late Doretha Minggia Milam. He then became a devoted member and served as a Deacon at the Mount Gilliam Baptist Church until his death.
In addition to his parents and faithful wife, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, Anthony, John, Matthew, and Jeremiah; and his four sisters, Elouisa, Maggie, Nancy, and Mamie.
Those remaining to forever cherish the precious memory of his life and love are his daughter, Joyce Minggia of Raleigh, NC; his son, Charles Minggia of Littleton, NC; his ever-devoted daughter-in-law, Shelia Minggia of Littleton, NC; four grandchildren, Tony, Charles, Felisia, and Raven; five great-grandchildren, Taheshia, Dominique, Tonaye, Terrell, and Tatiyana; one brother-in-law, Jessie Alston of Littleton, NC; seven sisters-in-law, Helen Bunch of Weldon, NC, Dorothy Milam of Warrenton, NC, Delorse Alston, Lillie Minggia, Barbara Minggia, and Annie Minggia all of Littleton, NC, and Delois Minggia of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at the Mount Gilliam Baptist Church in Littleton. The Pastor, Rev. John Rooks, will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will repose at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, until 8:30 P.M.
