David William Goins, the youngest child of the nine children of Jim Goins and Alice Alston Goins, was born on April 5, 1933, and after a lengthy illness, departed this earthly life on Friday, March 7, 2014, at Magnolia Gardens of Warrenton, North Carolina.
During his early life he accepted Christ as his personal Savior, was baptized, and became a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina, where he was very active. He taught Sunday school and attended church regularly until ill health prevailed. He loved worshipping the Lord and delighted in reading his Bible and other books. Whenever greeting anyone, he always began talking about the Bible.

While in high school, he also became employed at a local grocery store. After graduation, he attended North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina.
David was united in Holy Matrimony to the former McNeill Brown, who preceded him in death. This union was blessed with three children and blended with a stepson whom he loved.
Those left to forever treasure the memory of his life are his two daughters, Doris Goins and Shelia Goins of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his son, Solomon Goins of Durham, NC; his stepson, Gilbert Brown of Weldon, NC; four grandchildren, Yasmine Evans, James Evans, Devin Evans, and Amy Watson; one sister, Alice G. Watkins of Baltimore, MD; six brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
