Deacon Daryle Gene Pierce

Deacon Daryle Gene PIERCE was born to the late Nathaniel Pierce and Maxine Daye Pierce on May 14, 1946, in Halifax County, North Carolina. He transitioned from this earthly life and entered the Heavenly realm on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh, North Carolina, surrounded by his loving family.

During his early life, Daryle professed faith in Jesus Christ and became a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church in the Darlington Community of Halifax, North Carolina. He served as a Deacon and sang with the Male chorus.

Daryle received his formal education in the public schools of Halifax County, North Carolina. He attended the former John Armstrong Chaloner High School in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, and graduated with the class of 1964.

On April 15, 1967, Daryle was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Linda Rainey, and God blessed this union with three children. He was a loving devoted husband and father whose greatest joys included gatherings and special times with his family whom he truly adored. Singing with quartets, especially the Golden Echoes, brought him much spiritual fulfillment and gratification.

Daryle became employed with CSX Railroad Company for numerous years, and was also an entrepreneur of his own contracting business. He will forever be remembered for his love of people, his warm smile, his sweet spirit, and his unwavering faith in God.

In addition to his parents and wife, Daryle was preceded in death by his sisters, Ellarean P. Nesmith, and Alice P. Fleming; and his brothers, Lloyd and Kelvin Pierce.

Treasured memories of his life and the legacy of his love will remain embedded in the hearts of his children, Tuwana P. Jones (Danny) and Gregory Eugene Pierce all of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Darren Pierce (Cynthia) of Wilson, NC; his brothers, Johnathan Pierce (Mary) of Gaston, NC, and David Earl Pierce of  Roanoke Rapids, NC; his sisters, Mary Pierce- West of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Doris P. McNair  of Capital Heights, MD; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; his in-laws, George Rainey (Gloria) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; Joyce Rainey of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at the Lebanon Baptist Church, 10588 Justice Branch Road, Halifax, NC. The Pastor, Rev. Richard A. Powell will preside. Rev. Danny Jones will eulogize, and burial will follow in the Manley Family Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, NC. The body will repose at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, from 12:00 Noon – 8:30 P.M., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 –7:00 P.M.  A viewing will also be held at the church for one hour prior to the funeral time.
