Damian Tyrell “Pudgey” Hicks

DAMIAN TYRELL “PUDGEY” HICKS, beloved son of Anjeanette Sabrina Hicks and Clinton Tyrone Davis, was born on Thursday, March 31, 1994, at Halifax Memorial Hospital (Halifax Regional) in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. God called “Pudgey” to eternal peace on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at his home in Littleton, North Carolina.

“Pudgey” received his formal education in the Halifax County Public School System. He continued his studies at Halifax Community College in Weldon, North Carolina, and Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was baptized and attended the Refuge Church in Littleton, North Carolina.

For several years, he was employed with his uncle, “Bo” as an assistant at Angels of Light in Raleigh, North Carolina, and spent most of his summers with his uncle. He later began work as a car detailer with Buddy Isles Automotive in Littleton, North Carolina.

“Pudgey” was quiet, sometimes shy, humble, and fun-spirited. He loved his family, was a loyal friend, and a respectable young man. He enjoyed listening to music, cooking, playing video games, watching movies, taking care of animals, and was a huge fan of Gucci Mane. He would willingly lend a helping hand to anyone whenever possible.

“Pudgey” was preceded in death by his nephew, Cameron Hicks; his maternal great-grandparents, Lemmie and Mattie Bell Pulley; his paternal great-grandparents, Lester, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Davis.

Those remaining to forever treasure the precious memories of his life are his mother, Anjeanette Hicks of  the home; his father, Clinton Davis (Valerie) of Raleigh, NC; three sisters, Makia and Jamyra of the home, and Tyesse Davis of Raleigh, NC; his aunts, Felicia Gonzalez (Donny) of Fredericksburg, VA, and Jerquitta Smallwood (Clarence) of Knightdale, NC; his uncle, Jawaine Pulley of Littleton, NC;  his nephew and niece whom he babysat, Ayden and  Aubrey of the home; his maternal grandmother, Opal “Grams” Pulley of Littleton, NC; his maternal grandfather, Linwood Pulley of Littleton, NC; his paternal grandmother, Marylean Davis of Littleton, NC; his paternal grandfather, David Williams of Seaboard, NC; his great-uncles, Lester “Pete” Davis, Jr., Elder Joseph Williams (Elizabeth), James Williams (Lucy), and Conway Williams (Elaine) all  of Littleton, NC, Bill Williams (Ruby) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Leroy Williams of Rocky Mount, NC, and Joseph Davis of Raleigh, NC; his great-aunts, Rachael Davis of Queens, NY, Carolyn Brown (Medicus) of Raleigh, NC, Gloria Alston of Greensboro, NC, Tracy Thompson of Jersey City, NJ, Vannette Dicky (Chuckie) of Darlington, SC and Gladys Williams of Littleton, NC; his great-grandmothers, Marie Hicks of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Josie Bell Williams of Greensboro, NC; three special cousins, Devin Gonzalez of Fredericksburg, VA, Roslyn Brown of Greensboro, NC , whom he affectionately called “Aunt Juby” and Moosie; his god-brothers, Darius Lyon and Richie Ramirez; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 2, 2018, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, 215 US Highway 158, Littleton, NC. Rev. Frank Terry will officiate, and burial will follow in the Robinson Cemetery in Littleton. The body will repose at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon – 8:30 P.M. on Friday, June 1, 2018.
