Daisy Mae Alston Brinkley

DAISY MAE ALSTON BRINKLEY was born to the late Abraham Alston and Pattie Lou Manley Alston on September 1, 1937, in Warren County, North Carolina. She followed the path of life until she answered God’s call to her heavenly home on Monday, November 13, 2017, at her home in Littleton, North Carolina.

During her early life, Daisy accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. Many years later, she began to worship with her husband at the Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina, where she worshiped faithfully until the time of her death.

Daisy’s formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System, and later in life, she became employed with the former J. P. Stevens Textile Industry in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

Daisy was happily married to Leroy Brinkley for over sixty years, and they were “joined at the hip”. God blessed this union with six sons, and she had no greater passion in life than to nurture and devote time to her family. She always found the good in helping anyone in need, was always there for her family and friends with open arms, and worked hard to do her very best to complete the tasks that God assigned to her. What she did not complete must be forever undone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven of her siblings, John Alston, Helen Brinkley, Susie Harrison. Rosa Robinson, Nanny Perkins, Frances Carter, and Booker T. Alston.

Those remaining to forever treasure the blessings of her love and the precious memories of her life are her devoted husband, Leroy Brinkley of the home; her sons, Louis Brinkley (Bridgette) of Fort Worth, TX, Roy Brinkley (Sylvia) of Washington, DC, Joseph Brinkley (Patricia) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Willis Brinkley (Earlene) and Carl Brinkley (Shelia) of Richmond, VA, and Gary Brinkley of Raleigh, NC; nine grandchildren, Melissa Stansbury of Knightdale, NC, Crystal Brinkley of Raleigh, NC, Raymond Stansbury of Smithfield, NC, Adrian Brinkley of Manhattan, NY, Tiffany Brinkley of Richmond, VA, Micah and Lauren Brinkley of Atlanta, GA, Timothy Brinkley of Fort Worth, TX, and Savannah Brinkley of Richmond, VA; three great-grandchildren, Jalen Keith of Knightdale, NC, Alyse Brinkley of Fort Worth, TX, and Haleigh Brinkley of Raleigh, NC; one sister, Emma Jarrell of Upper Marlboro, MD; one uncle, Jessie Mack Alston of Littleton, NC; two sisters-in-law, Velma Brinkley and Adella Burgess of Littleton, NC; and a great host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 18, 2017, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home in Littleton, NC. Rev. Jeffrey Anderson will eulogize, and burial will follow in the Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Littleton, NC.  The body will repose at the funeral home on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 12 Noon until 8:30 PM.
