Christine Yvonne “Chris” Faulcon

CHRISTINE YVONNE “CHRIS” FAULCON was born to the late David Faulcon, Sr. and Effie F. Faulcon on May 8, 1944, in Littleton, North Carolina, and departed this earthly life on Thursday, November 23, 2017, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.

During her early life, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and became a member of the Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina.

“Chris” received her formal education in the Halifax County Public School System, and she graduated Valedictorian from the former McIver High School in Littleton, North Carolina, with the class of 1962. She furthered her studies at North Carolina College in Durham, North Carolina, (North Carolina Central University) and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. In June of 1966, she was hired by IBM in the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, as a computer programmer. After training in Poughkeepsie, New York, she returned to the Research Triangle Park location. During her career at IBM, she traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada serving IBM and its customers. For her excellent service to the company, she received many awards and one promotion after another. In 1996, she retired as a Senior Programmer with a wonderful career and thirty years of loyal service.

After her retirement from IBM, “Chris” returned to her hometown of Littleton, NC, where she enjoyed solving puzzles, playing computer games, and studying the Bible. She also devoted herself to caring for her family and friends, especially her aging infirmed siblings. She was a generous loving person, giving freely and joyfully of her time, wisdom, and financial resources. Her commitment to helping others was evident in the happiness she experienced in improving the lives of others. Like her parents before her, “Chris” welcomed all of her family into her home, and it became the favorite destination for out-of-town relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Nena F. Barrett; and two brothers, David Faulcon, Jr. and Lenwood Faulcon, Sr.

Those surviving to continually cherish the precious memory of her life and love are her four siblings, Irene Morring of Norfolk, VA, Josephine Haley of Virginia Beach, VA,  Annie Parrish (Melvin) of Chapel Hill, NC, and Curtis Faulcon, Sr. (Barbara) of Littleton, NC; two nieces who were like sisters, Ruby Solomon of Durham, NC, and Wylene Faulcon-Goins of Littleton, NC; two sisters-in-law, Martha Faulcon of Littleton, NC, and Lula Faulcon of Virginia Beach, VA; three sons-of-the-heart, Michael Stansbury, Ken Settles, and Ed Louis Faulcon, Jr. all of Littleton, NC; a devoted friend, James Bowers; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 30, 2017, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, 215 US Highway 158, Littleton, NC. Rev. Robert L. Faulcon, Sr. will eulogize, and burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Littleton, NC. A visitation and viewing will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, from 5:00 -7:00 P.M. and for one hour prior to the funeral time.
