Carolyn Faye Goins Clanton

On September 4, 1950, Jack Goins and Velma Boyd Goins gave birth to a daughter, Carolyn Faye Goins, in Halifax County, North Carolina. Carolyn answered God’s call to eternal rest on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at Enfield Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Enfield, North Carolina.

During her early life, she joined the Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina, where she accepted the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System where she attended the former McIver High School in Littleton, North Carolina.

On June 26, 1970, she was united in Holy Matrimony to a wonderful man, Woodley Clanton. They truly loved each other and were happily married for forty-four years. God blessed this union with two children, Amanda and Danielle Clanton.

Carolyn was a loving mother to her children and a special friend to everyone whose life she touched in so many ways. One of her greatest joys was reading her bible, and she also enjoyed sewing.

Those left to forever cherish the precious moments shared and to treasure the joys of her life are her caring, devoted, and loving husband, Woodley Clanton of the home; her two daughters, Amanda Clanton of Norcross, GA, and Danielle Clanton of Greensboro, NC; her grandchildren, Zacchaeus Tuck of South Hill, VA, Travelle Settles and Treasure Clanton of Norcross, GA, and Daniel Clanton of Greensboro, NC; one sister, Lillian Goins Ellis (Oshel) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; two brothers, Henry Goins (Bernice) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Clifton Goins of New Jersey; one uncle, Nathaniel Boyd of Baltimore, MD; five other sisters-in-law, Lillian Walker, Patsy Jackson, and Patty Ann Taylor all of Littleton, NC, and Dinesia Griffin and Ida Anderson of Philadelphia, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
