Bernard “Petro” Alston

BERNARD “PETRO” ALSTON was born on December 30, 1951, in Warren County, North Carolina, to the late Edward J. Alston and Hattie Pearl Vincent Alston. He transitioned from this earthly life on Monday, March 12, 2018, at his home in Littleton, North Carolina.

During his early life, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, was baptized, and became a member of the Pleasant Zion Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina.

His formal education was received in the Warren County Public School System, and he became employed in the power line and log wood industries.

Bernard enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. His favorite pastime was playing Dominoes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, William, Edward, Samuel, and Charlie; and his two sisters, Annette and Shirley.

Those loved ones remaining to forever treasure his precious memories and share the legacy of his love are his siblings, Charles Alston (Debra) of the home, Sandra Williams (Joe) of Littleton, NC,  Ernestine Brown (John) of Norfolk, VA, and Yvonne Carter and Joyce Blackwell of Richmond, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 17, 2018, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, 215 US Highway 158, in Littleton. Bishop McArthur Vincent will eulogize, and burial will follow in the Pleasant Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will repose at the funeral home on Friday, March 16, 2018, from 12:00 Noon – 8:30 P.M.
