Anitta Constance “Conk” Taylor Johnson

ANITTA CONSTANCE “CONK” TAYLOR JOHNSON, affectionately known as “Conk”, was born on October 23, 1962, in Littleton, North Carolina, to Clifton Taylor and Nellie Tabron Taylor. She answered God’s summon to eternal rest and peace on Monday, November 20, 2017, at Nash UNC Hospital in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

During her early life, she accepted Jesus Christ into her life, was baptized, and joined the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Littleton, North Carolina. Her formal education was received in the Halifax County Public School System, and she graduated from Northwest Halifax High School in Littleton, North Carolina, with the class of 1981.

Anitta was united in marriage to Rufus Johnson for ten years, and she was employed at Lowe’s Regional Distribution Center # 1420. She enjoyed baking cakes, taking care of her grandchildren, and sharing special moments with her family and friends.

Anitta was preceded in death by one sister, Viola Taylor Brinkley.

Loved ones remaining to forever share the legacy of her life and cherish the memory of her life are her husband, Rufus Johnson of the home; two sons, Danny Jones, Jr. (Andrea) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Tobias Taylor of Pensacola, FL; two grandsons, D’Andre and D’Yantae Jones; her mother, Nellie Tabron Taylor of Littleton, NC; her father, Clifton Taylor of Scotland Neck, NC; one brother, Donnell Tabron (Carolina) of Lithonia, GA; two sisters, Elaine Taylor of Littleton, NC, and Joyce Mason (Braaheem) of Las Vegas, NV; three nephews, Marcus (Laveka), Wallace (Brittany), and Anzell; four nieces, Latoya (Fred), Latisha (Ken), Dinesha, and Angel; seven great-nephews; four great-nieces; her mother-in-law, Yvonne Johnson; one sister-in-law, Shirley (Clanton); four brothers-in-law, Clifton (Nolean), Rodney (Edna), Reginald, and Michael; five uncles, Louis (Emma), Bobby, Johnny, James Lee, and Mat  Louis (Viola); eight aunts, Letha (Billy), Mildred, Ceola, Leona, Shirley, Doretha, Nathonia, and Dorrsie; four special young ladies, Khiyah Jones, Kiarya Smith, A’Shauna Harvey, and Nakia Squire; three special young men, Perry Jones, Demetry Jones, and Trent Smith; and a host of other in-laws, cousins, other relatives and friends who will all miss her dearly and remember her always.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Littleton, NC. The Pastor, Rev. Dr. C. E. McCollum, will deliver the eulogy, and burial will follow in the Crestview Memorial Cemetery, Smith Church Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC. The body will repose at the funeral home on Friday, December 1, 2017, from 12 Noon until 8:30 PM.
